How Do You Understand Discount in Mandarin Chinese?

Hello, everyone! Welcome back to our Chinese class!

Last time, we have learned how to say “discount” (dǎ zhé).“Dǎ zhé ma” is there any discount? Be able to speak “dǎzhé is not enough for a “discount” conversation. You need to understand how much discount you could actually get from the sales.

The way to express in Mandarin is slightly different from English. For example, if an item is 10% off on sale which means it is 90% of original price. The way we speak in Mandarin is 9 zhé. If something is 25% off, we would say 75 zhé.
