1. How do I know if my computer supports this?
If you can view our Online Course, you have already matched our Basic configuration for viewing our Online Course with an internet connection (broadband is the best, GPRS does not support Skype, and results may vary on a satellite connection). 3. How do I get started?
Please go here to claim your trial lesson. You will be sent an email from New Concept Mandarin with a confirmation link. Following this confirmation link to set up your account and then you will be able to can log in to your online lessons as well as reserve the date and time for the trial lesson.

4. How can I sign up?
After the trial lesson you can then easily purchase further lessons conveniently through our online payment facilities. The same can be done for repeat purchases after finishing each module.

5. How can I book a class?
Once you have enrolled into your Tutorial Live online account you can book your lesson through our booking system. The booking system will show you the available choices and you can easily choose a date and time at your convenience, confirm and book your class with it. Please be reminded, you need to input your phone number for emergency contact. Sessions can only be cancelled 24 hours before the session starts. There will be an email telling you that the session is reserved. Please also wait for another email from our teacher to confirm you the actual start time.

6. What is Tutorial Live?
Tutorial Live classes are not just another language exchange program with a Chinese Friend over the internet. Tutorial Live is similar to a 1 on 1 private lesson. The teacher will talk to the student live using voice and video conferencing utilities so the student will see and talk to his private instructor who is giving his undivided attention to the student during the whole session. In the lessons you will also be using a whiteboard application to practice reading and writing, and also point and highlight text etc The whole learning experience will be guided by the New Concept Mandarin online courses and there is the possibility for the student to purchase our fully integrated CD-ROM and course books as well.

7. For who are these lessons?
These lessons are designed for anybody who wanted to learn the basics of Chinese but were never able to start a class because their schedule did not allow them to visit regular classes, for those who did not find a qualified school or instructor nearby or for those who want to start learning now without any delay.

8. How can Tutorial Live help me learn mandarin better then a self study program?
Self study demands a big portion of self motivation. The student has no means to verify if the skills he learns are correct. With Tutorial Live a trained Mandarin Tutor will be helping the student to improve all 4 communication skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) and make learning much more effective.

9. How is this different to the class room course?
Tutorial Live is not the same as classroom teaching. Basically the teacher is functioning as a Tutor that will assist you in your learning. 10. Who will be teaching me?

11. Where can I take the Tutorial Live lessons?
You can take the lessons wherever you are that has an internet connection. In order to reach a maximum of efficiency, we advise you to have a quiet place where you will not be interrupted and can focus for one hour on your lesson.

12. How long does the course take to complete?
We have three proficiency levels including: Survival, Social and Professional . Learners need to study 3 modules to complete each proficiency level. It will usually take between 20 - 40 hours for a learner to finish 1 module depending on each individuals learning speed. There are 30 lessons per module. Details can be found here.

13. What do I have to do when I feel that there is not enough time to finish my Level?
Your tutor will always keep an eye on your learning progress, but even with that, not everybody studies at the same pace. The pace for finishing our Modules has been designed to an average learning speed. Some students might feel that the pace is too quick. You can, at any time, purchase additional hours to finish the level in the right pace for your learning profile.

14. Do I have to do any homework?
Like every language study, learning Chinese requires the student to repeat the studied material on his own. With New Concept Mandarin Tutorial Live doing the homework is not only easy but also a fun task. The student can go through our animated online lessons as often as they wish (during the duration of the course). Once the student has completed the online material they will be asked to do the test lesson at the end of the session and then would be ready for their next Tutorial Live session.

15. What do I do when I can not make it to a lesson that I booked before?
If you cannot make it to one of your booked lesson, you have the option to cancel the lesson through the booking system 24 hours before the lesson starts, in this case you will not be charged for the lesson. Later than this will result in the lesson being considered taken.

16. How can I pay?
With our online payment system, you can use your Visa and Mastercard credit card to purchase your Tutorial Live classes. You can also pay by bank transfer, Paypal online system, you can transfer the money into our account or you have the choice to come to one of our centers to pay.
