'Dà Lǎobǎn' (大老板), which means ‘big boss’ in Chinese, is the first in a series of business videos produced by New Concept Mandarin that resemble a TV drama program, in which four managers of a Chinese company compete among themselves for their boss’s job as General Manager. The 'Dà Lǎobǎn' (大老板) puts each of his Managers through a series of tests - knowing that only one will qualify and pass to his expectations.

Using various scenarios, viewers learn how to conduct a meeting, how to close a deal, how to socialize and much more, using their Chinese language skills. Two Mandarin speaking tutors also help guide the viewer through the modules to emphasize and teach business jargon, phrases and grammar.
At the beginning of each module, the viewer is asked to choose one of three unique learning formats - Story Mode, Learning Mode or Situational Mode.

The Business Chinese Series offers a hands-on approach to learning Mandarin using verbal and written exercises that will have the student speaking, reading and understanding Chinese in practical business situations.
Viewers may also choose between viewing English, Pinyin or Chinese character subtitles. A script of the Video is also available for purchase.
