    Wendy Fu

I'm Wendy from Wuhan. I graduated from Hubei University of Technology with a Bachelor's degree in biotechnology. I worked as a full-time teacher for New Concept Mandarin in Shenzhen from 2006 and now in Suzhou. I focus on improving my students' confidence first and finding ways to make learning Chinese interesting and effective. The NCM methodology has taught me to help each student advance at their own pace and become a better learner. Through my teaching, you will share my country’s culture and charm.

Our clients say :

  • Here is an interview of Matt and Joanna:

What was the biggest challenge when you moved to china?

Matt: It was the language. More the written language than the spoken language, I felt I could learn the spoken language. In other countries you can read what says on a sign and look for it in a dictionary, here I was not even able to read it.

Joanna: We have been studying in New Concept Mandarin for the whole year. We are starting on our 6th course now and it has made it easier, especially to deal with day to day things. We recently went travelling where there are fewer people who speak English at all and it has been very useful knowing how to communicate.

Matt: It is has helped us to learn little bits of information. For example we learnt from a taxi driver not to go to certain places because they were full of “bad people who will steal your money.” We never would have got that information if we hadn’t been able to talk to him.

Would you recommend New Concept Mandarin to people who want to learn the language?

Joanna: Yes, definitely. I took some Mandarin classes in university and compared with that course New Concept Mandarin is much better organized. The materials are modern and relevant. It is a spiral course, so you keep coming back to the same topics but with more vocabulary and new structures to learn. I think it is a very good way to learn any language.

Matt: The school is very flexible about how to learn the language. At the start I had really intensive lessons so that I could just pick up the basic structures and vocabulary. We take classes together and are both very competitive about learning the language.
