This is awesome!
When I started the course I did not know any Mandarin. I could say "hi" and "thanks'". The second day at the course I was out in the society and made a small interview with people. In Mandarin I introduced my self and ask them questions and took there phone number. For me this was a "wow experience". Next day I bought some things and could do some bargain.
That I could learn to speak and understand Mandarin in two weeks is for me is amazing. I'm not in a high level, but now I catch up the discussions and information that people having. Not fully, but so much that I can understand the "big picture", introduce my self, ask questions, take a taxi, have somethings to drink and eat, etc, etc.. It really felt that this Survival course was customized for me.
I really wanted to learn Mandarin because I need it for work, and are very grateful to all of my teachers for their way of handle the learning situation for me. They put their full effort to drill me so I was so exhausted in the end of the days. I really want to say thanks to all of my teachers, Anny, Ursula, Ashley, Maggie, Suki for a fantastic work and that you had patience with me.
This concept and the teachers in combination is a success.

I am very happy with the lessons I had at New Concept Mandarin. I've been studying with NCM for nearly 5 months on the Social level and made big progress in that period. I feel much more confident now speaking and reading Chinese.
My teacher, Anny Tian, is a very friendly, patient and dedicated teacher. She can explain things well and is always happy to answer any question. She also knows very well how to motivate and stimulate students to learn more. She challenged me a lot, and that really pushed me to a higher level.
I can highly recommend New Concept Mandarin to anyone learning Chinese. It's a very good way to learn and the lessons are a lot of fun!-- Jeroen Rijnbergen
I wanted to express my sincere thanks to Ashley. She is an organized and very professional young lady with the most endearing personality. She did her best to make the mandarin lessons suitable for our individual needs. She was always patient enough to allow us to go over words and homework until we felt comfortable that we understood. She also gave us the opportunity to visit the small super market downstairs and practice what we had learnt in the classroom. This was an excellent way to learn the concepts of Mandarin and to also gave us the confidence to try out our language skills in public.
The other important fact I wish to add is that Ashley included other topics not featured in the Concept Mandarin booklet. We were struggling with Transport and she spent part of a lesson going over the communication needed for requesting and directing a taxi driver, which is a must when you use this form of transport daily!
And lastly, I wish to say that I had great fun in the class. We were rather a mad group but we all got on so well and it was great to meet others and learn about there countries and backgrounds when completing the language tasks.
I now need to go over my Mandarin and practice using it in public as much and as often as possible!-- Sandra Hobbs
