• " I work for a large multi national producing high volume precision engineered products and have lived in Suzhou for two years. I tried very hard for two years to learn the language through regular lessons in the office. I was able to get to a sort of street survival level.

  For a long time I wanted to do better but could not find the time or the motivation. Then a change of responsibility upped the anti and pushed me into asking for the help of New Concept Mandarin. I signed up for 8 weeks of immersion. They were brilliant. They assessed my capability, assembled a team and surrounded me with learning experiences. I spoke Chinese all day and everyday for 8 weeks and it was not embarrassing and it was not stressful. It was bloody hard work though.

  At the end of each day they would assess my progress and design the program for the next day. By the time they pushed me back into the factory I could talk to most people about most subjects. • " I have had several Chinese classes in Suzhou-- and several personal tutors come to my home. I can honestly say that this is the best course or study that I have had in my "almost" three years in Suzhou. I am in Beginner Level 2-- and I feel like after the last five or so weeks of class, I have gained a much better concept of sentence structure, grammar and comprehension. The language is really starting to come together and I am feeling more and more confident! The classes are fun-- and we laugh a lot! Our teacher is a very intelligent young lady that has a great sense of humor...she makes the time fly!

  Also, the course books are great- very fun and bright. The online study is good when you are tired of looking at notes and your books-- plus its wonderful practice because you "HEAR" the words spoken instead of just read them.

  So, If you want to learn Chinese but are just waivering about "if you have time" or "how hard it will be"...etc...I recommend that you just sign up with New Concept Mandarin and dig in. Don't wait til' you are here for a couple of years like I did...that's wasted time!

  I know I sound like a "Paid Advertisement" but I'm not! I just think you should give credit where credit is due! But since I'm already sounding that way anyhow....ha ha...
