My language training at NCM has been a positively outstanding experience I would recommend to everyone. “Language Immersion” combined with one-on-one tutorials is probably the most effective way to learn Chinese, both for students at square one and for people wanting to improve their Chinese language skills and vocabulary. The NCM methodology is holistic in the sense that it focuses on developing speaking, listening, reading and writing skills at the same time. Moreover, the teaching materials and techniques are both effective and pleasant, since they give students the flexibility to adapt classes to their learning speed and skills as well as professional needs. While continually challenged, I never felt completely lost from the material, and I believe that this allowed me to gain the maximum possible benefit from the training. Combined with the personal attention of the instructors, this approach makes it possible for the student to learn a great deal in a short time. As to the instructors, I found them to be uniformly excellent. The talent, patience and good humour of all of the instructors was a real boost to me. One of my teachers one day told me that NCM was like a big family and she couldn’t be more right – it’s amazing because when you arrive in a foreign country you value much more the affection. The big family concept also allows you to follow intensive courses at NCM branches other than where you are normally based. You then get the pleasant experience of showing-up Monday morning in a different city meeting new teachers who nonetheless already know who you are, how much Chinese you speak, your strengths and weaknesses, and how you prefer to be taught. Impressive!

New Concept Mandarin (NCM) has really enriched my life in Dongguan both professionally and personally. Working as head of Human Resources and Administration at a large production facility, it is a great help being able to discuss issues directly with our factory employees. After a little more than one year of studying Mandarin two times a week I have reached a level that allows me to do so.

When selecting the right vendor to provide Mandarin, the most important criterion for me was "value for money". Despite the fact that our comparisons showed me a unit price for lessons a little higher at NCM than other vendors, I believe that NCM Chinese courses are worth-the-money and the most efficient solution. Better teachers and better teaching methods mean faster progress and therefore savings on lessons in the long run. In a hectic everyday flexibility can be required and therefore flexibility were the second most important criterion for me.

NCM has certainly lived up to my expectations and therefore I highly recommend NCM.

"I just completed four weeks of intensive study at New Concept Mandarin (NCM) in their Nanjing Learning Center. I could not be happier. I had studied the language in the U.S. for a couple of years, adult education, one day a week at the local Chinese Cultural Center. Since that study focused primarily on reading/writing, much-needed verbal skills were lacking, I requested NCM target that important area. After my four weeks I feel much more capable.

I chose NCM because they are routinely selected by international companies and foreign governments to provide training to their employees assigned to work in China, or conduct business with Chinese counterparts. NCM Nanjing’s group of talented, young teachers is superlative, as they teach real-world interactions within Chinese society. For example, one teacher discussed her own two exciting weekend activities – one, visiting her parents in her own hometown and attending a wedding; the other, journeying to a nearby municipality with friends to attend yet another Chinese wedding. On other occasions, I was treated to detailed descriptions of Chinese houses, real-estate, and very importantly…taught Chinese humorous sayings and even some jokes! These insights into Chinese society can be invaluable for achieving rapport with Chinese counterparts.

In short, I can unequivocally recommend New Concept Mandarin!"

" During my internship in Singapore I had the chance to start learning Mandarin at NCM and enjoyed it very much.

I think it’s always a good way of learning a new language when it takes place in a small group like our group of only 7 people, because then the teacher can structure the classes better according to the individuals needs.

The repetition exercises in every lesson were very beneficial.

With these exercises we could repeat the last lesson and keep the words and expressions in mind easier.

I believe that it is also very important that the clients talk and practice a lot in class and we always held a lot of conversations and read texts out loud.

The classes were well-structured and full of useful terms for everyday life and working life.
